Tsanko Tsankov won the swimming marathon in the Strait of Gibraltar. The Bulgarian swimmer covered the distance of 16.750 km from Punta de Tarifa (Spain) to Cires Point (Morocco) in 3:56:03 hrs.

Tsankov became the first Bulgaria to have swum the distance from Europe to Africa.

Tsankov is feeling well after he achieved his victory under extremely harsh conditions in the Atlantic Ocean.
