The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 1,259,948 after 1,135 tests identified 179 new infections on Monday, of which 60.89% were of unvaccinated persons, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 15.8%.

Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 66 positive tests, followed by Varna Region with 19 cases and Veliko Tarnovo Region with 13.

The active cases are 10,227. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 607, including 44 in intensive care. Of the 31 new hospital admissions, 74.19% were not vaccinated.

The infected medical staff have reached 25,841.

Another 15 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 1,212,003.

No fatalities were reported, and the death toll is unchanged at 37,718.

With 10 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 4,550,020 vaccine doses have been administered so far, 2,071,899 people are fully vaccinated, and 890,096 have received a booster jab (including 78,950 reboostered).
