site.btaCOVID-19 Update: 721 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 13%

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 1,262,445 after 5,585 tests identified 721 new infections on Wednesday, of which 58.39% were of unvaccinated persons, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 12.91%.

Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 227 positive tests, followed by Plovdiv Region with 71 cases and Varna Region with 45.

The active cases are 9,815. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 625, including 47 in intensive care. Of the 91 new hospital admissions, 80.22% were not vaccinated.

The infected medical staff have reached 25,900.

Another 576 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 1,215,393.

Four fatalities were reported, two of them unvaccinated, and the death toll now stands at 37,737.

With 1,582 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 4,553,919 vaccine doses have been administered so far, 2,072,090 people are fully vaccinated, and 893,745 have received a booster jab (including 81,716 reboostered).
