site.btaCOVID-19 Update: 513 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 9%

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 1,279,595 after 5,719 tests identified 513 new infections on Monday, of which 60.62% were of unvaccinated persons, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 8.97%.

Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 148 positive tests, followed by Plovdiv Region with 49 cases and Varna Region with 36.

The active cases are 9,959. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 660, including 57 in intensive care. Of the 79 new hospital admissions, 63.29% were not vaccinated.

The infected medical staff have reached 26,134.

Another 850 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 1,231,748.

Eight fatalities was reported (75.00% unvaccinated), and the death toll now adds up to 37,888.

With 823 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 4,579,803 vaccine doses have been administered so far, 2,073,318 people are fully vaccinated, and 917,947 have received a booster jab (including 45,378 reboostered).
