Bulgarian gymnasts Mirela Koseva and Siyana Pavlova won silver at the synchronized trampoline event in the 11-12 age group at the 29th FIG Trampoline Gymnastics World Age Group Competition here late Wednesday. After the girls' success, their head coach and executive director of Akro Art (Gabrovo) Yulian Georgiev told BTA that this success was unexpected, because this massive sports forum was a debut for the two girls.
Georgiev shared that the two athletes had been preparing for two years before the competition. He expressed gratitude to the Bulgarian Trampoline Federation, Gabrovo Municipality, and the other Bulgarian coaches, whose support helped make this triumph possible. "It is an honour, a privilege and a pleasure to hold this World Championship in Bulgaria and to have a record number of participants in the age groups - over 1,500 competitors from around the world," Georgiev said.
The gold went to Sophie Darous and Alienor Robbe Meyer from France.
The competition is taking place in Arena Sofia from November 23 to 26.
