site.btaCOVID-19 Update: 198 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 5.57%

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 1,286,305, after 3,554 tests identified 198 new infections on Thursday, 54.55% of which were of unvaccinated persons, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 5.57%.

Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 42 positive tests, followed by Plovdiv Region with 21.

The active cases are 6,151. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 466, including 55 in intensive care. Of the 57 new hospital admissions, 73.68% were not vaccinated.

Another 818 COVID-19 patients recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing total recoveries to 1,242,132.

Two fatalities were reported, 50.00% of them unvaccinated, bringing the death toll to 38,022.

A total of 4,594,529 vaccine doses have been administered so far, 2,074,080 people are fully vaccinated, and 931,684 have received a booster jab (including 59,115 with an adapted vaccine).
