Bulgaria will provide Ukraine with small arms and some ammunition, caretaker Minister of Economy and Industry Nikola Stoyanov told journalists here on Friday. He said the provision of military aid will take place based on a decision of Parliament.
The Defence Minister has provided a list of what the Bulgarian Army's capabilities are, and it will be published soon, Stoyanov specified.
"We will provide assistance to Ukraine, as the MPs have decided, according to the capabilities of the Bulgarian army," Stoyanov further said. He pointed out that the assistance to Ukraine will in no way affect the combat readiness of the Bulgarian army.
"What we are helping with is what we can afford at the moment," Stoyanov added.
He was speaking to the press after a ribbon-cutting ceremony at a new logistics centre of the Bulgarian transport and logistics company Transpress in the Sofia borough of Bojurishte.
