site.btaCOVID-19 Update: 73 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 6.4%

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 1,291,548 after 1,142 tests identified 73 new infections on Wednesday, of which 54.79% were of unvaccinated persons, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 6.4%.

Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 17 positive tests, followed by Pazardzhik Region with 9 cases and Burgas and Varna Region with 7 cases each.

The active cases are 3,963. Currently, 347 patients are hospitalized, including in intensive care. Of the 5 new hospital admissions, 40.00% were not vaccinated.

The infected medical staff have reached 26,281.

Another 47 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 1,249,488.

No fatalities were reported, and the death toll remains unchanged at 38,097.

With 9 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 4,602,660 vaccine doses have been administered so far, 938,989 people are fully vaccinated, and 66,420 have received a booster jab (including reboostered).
