site.btaCOVID-19 Update: 46 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 7.8%

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 1,292,150 after 589 tests identified 46 new infections on Sunday, of which 60.87% were of unvaccinated persons, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 7.81%.

Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 14 positive tests, followed by Varna Region with 8 cases and Sofia Region with 7 cases.

The active cases are 3,837. Currently, 363 patients are hospitalized, including 34 in intensive care. Of the 10 new hospital admissions, 70% were not vaccinated.

The infected medical staff have reached 26,285.

Another 9 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 1,250,205.

No fatalities were reported, and the death toll remains unchanged at 38,108.

With no new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 4,603,029 vaccine doses have been administered so far, 2,074,810 people are fully vaccinated, and 939,299 have received a booster jab (including 66,730 reboostered).
