site.btaCOVID-19 Update: 166 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 3.1%

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 1,294,318 after 5,349 tests identified 166 new infections on Monday, January 16, according to data posted on coronavirus.bg. The test positivity rate for the day was 3.1%.

The active cases are 3,451. Currently, hospitalized patients number 354, including 50 in intensive care. Fifty-seven people were admitted to hospital on Monday.

With 500 recoveries in 24 hours, a total of 1,252,721 people have recovered from the infection since the start of the pandemic. Seven new fatalities were reported on Monday, and the death toll reached 38,146.

With 193 new inoculations on Monday, 4,605,384 vaccine doses have been administered so far.
