Two Swiss competitors won the men's and the women's parallel slalom races in a FIS Snowboard World Cup event in Bansko on Saturday. Dario Caviezel won the men's competition and Julie Zogg placed first among the women.
Bulgarian Youth and Sports Minister Vesela Lecheva presented the awards to the winners. She congratulated both the snowboarders and the organizers, the latter of whom made great efforts to prepare the course despite the inclement weather. "I congratulate you on your victory. The hosts tried to provide the best conditions so that you did not have to think about anything but your own performance," Lecheva said.
Members of the international snowboarding elite agreed that the weather across Europe is unfavourable for competitions this season. They appreciated the efforts of the organizers in Bansko to provide conditions for a top-class event.
