The Bulgarian Energy Ministry on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with British asset management company Gemcorp and US nuclear power project management company IP3.
By the Memorandum, the parties commit to cooperate in the planning and implementation of projects for the production of clean energy, alternative and strategic gas deliveries, the safeguarding of energy supply, and nuclear power development.
The document was signed in the presence of Prime Minister Kiril Petkov by Energy Minister Alexander Nikolov for Bulgaria and by Executive Directors Atanas Bostandzhiev for Gemcorp and Michael Hewitt for IP3.
Petkov congratulated the parties to the Memorandum and described the signing as "a big step for Bulgaria" because the two companies are expected to invest here more than 1 billion US dollars in green energy and various energy projects.
