The head of Bulgaria's General Directorate for Combating Organized Crime, Kalin Stoyanov, held meetings with department chiefs at the Turkish National Police during a working visit to Turkey between February 24 and 25, the Interior Ministry in Sofia reported on Monday. Stoyanov talked with Ibrahim Seydiogulklari (Counter Narcotics), Mahmut Corumlu (Organized Crime), Erdal Cetinkaya (Cybercrime), Vedat Mercan (Public Order and Security) and Bekir Macit (Counter Migrant Smuggling and Border Gates).
The sides discussed matters of mutual interest related to the fight against transborder organized crime, cybercrime and migrant smuggling. Stoyanov said his visit laid a sound foundation to develop further the excellent traditional contacts between the Bulgarian and Turkish law enforcers. The hosts gave high marks for bilateral cooperation, the Bulgarian Interior Ministry said. The sides mapped out joint actions against transborder organized crime.
