The constitutional courts of Bulgaria and Turkey signed a Memorandum of Understanding on bilateral cooperation, Bulgaria’s Constitutional Court said on Friday. A delegation of Turkey’s constitutional court, led by President Zuhtu Arslan, is paying an official visit here between June 2 and 5 at the invitation of the Bulgarian Constitutional Court.
On June 2 within the framework of the official visit, a 2011 Memorandum of Understanding on bilateral cooperation between the two constitutional courts was renewed. The framework agreement reconfirms the traditionally friendly relations between the two constitutional courts and their longstanding cooperation. It envisages exchange of experience and good practices, visits, and the organization of seminars, trainings and conferences.
An example of successful cooperation is an annual summer school for legal experts organized by Turkey’s Constitutional Court, which aims to promote the exchange of expertise on the agenda of constitutional justice.
