site.btaExhibition Presents Old Photos from State Archives of Bulgaria, North Macedonia
An exhibition Old Balkan Photographs will be unveiled in Sofia’s Archives Exhibition Hall on July 1, the organizers said. The photos from the second half of the 19th century until the 1930s will be exhibited as part of a joint project of Bulgaria’s Archives State Agency and the State Archives of the Republic of North Macedonia.
Featured in the exhibition are 108 photos from Bulgaria’s central state archive and the archives of 21 settlements across the country, grouped by the topics of cities, villages, living, customs, clothing, at the market, and holidays.
The 108 photos from North Macedonia’s central archive and the archives of Bitola, Veles, Skopje, and Prilep cover the topics of architecture, old crafts, agriculture, everyday events, traditional clothing and embroidery, modern clothing, weddings, public events, and education.
The exhibition was first presented at Skopje’s Museum of the Republic of North Macedonia on June 15.
