site.btaHeads of Bulgarian, Greek Tax Administrations Sign Cooperation Protocol
The heads of the Bulgarian and Greek tax administrations, Rumen Spetsov and Georgios Pitsilis, signed a bilateral protocol from a working meeting, held in Athens on July 26, the Bulgarian National Revenue Agency said Tuesday. The two discussed ways to enhance cooperation in tackling tax fraud and tax evasion more effectively, while encouraging just and transparent taxation.
The two administrations have also agreed to coordinate their efforts for signing a memorandum of understanding. The document will lay the foundations for a better future cooperation between the two countries by regulating processes, procedures and channels for exchange of information about moveable and immoveable property, assets, exchange of operational information. The goal is to facilitate customs formalities concerning the import of goods subject to VAT. A working group will be established to smooth out the details surrounding the memorandum.
