One of the biggest events on the calendar of mountain biking in Bulgaria, Pamporovo Bike Fest, took place over the weekend in this mountain resort.
This was the eighth edition of the race. More than 150 bikers from Bulgaria, as well as from Italy, France, Greece, Romania and Britain took part in the competition which this year featured an international race with category one of International Cycling Union (UCI) counting towards the world ranking, round one of the Bulgarian downhill series, and round four of the children's downhill series.
The race for juniors was held on Saturday, and the adults' competition took place on Sunday.
Greek riders won both races. Alexandros Topkaroglu clocked 2:21.33 min in the men's race, elite category, followed by Bulgarian Dimiter Mazneikov with a difference of just 1.5 second. Third placed Bulgarian national champion Stivian Gatev.
In the juniors race, Marco Lamaris of Greece clocked 2:23.32 min, followed by Lewis Maki and Rossen Rankov. In the master category first placed Aristeidis Chatzigeorgiou from Greece. In the ladies' event Bulgaria's Denitsa Tosheva came first.
