Bulgaria's Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) Chair Mustafa Karadayi met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara, the MRF press office said on Tuesday. The meeting was also attended by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and MRF Deputy Chair Ahmed Ahmedov.
The news was first reported on the website of the Turkish President's office on Monday, but no details were given. Karadayi and Ahmedov were paying a visit to Turkey.
Karadayi was quoted by the MRF press office as telling Erdogan that Bulgaria will hold early parliamentary elections in October. "The elections will pass but a difficult winter will come," the guest said.
The sides discussed how Turkey can help Bulgaria in these difficult times. They also looked at Sofia's relations with Ankara in the context of energy and natural gas.
Karadayi and Ahmedov met with a large group of ethnic Turks from Bulgaria resident in Turkey to discuss the upcoming snap elections in Bulgaria. The meeting was attended by the MRF representatives in the regions of Marmara, Bursa, Izmir and Istanbul.
