Students from Veliko Turnovo (Central Bulgaria), Skopje and Burgas (on the Black Sea) were received by the ambassadors of Bulgaria and North Macedonia in the EU and North Macedonia’s Deputy Prime Minister, Renew Europe MEP Ilhan Kyuchyuk’s office reported on Tuesday.
Kyuchyuk hosted the visitors in Brussels, including students from Bulgaria and North Macedonia. The three-day visit by students from the two countries is part of the "Draw Me Bulgaria, Draw Me Macedonia" contest. The drawings were made by students from the Ismail Qemali primary school in Skopje and from the Vela Blagoeva High School in Veliko Turnovo.
The meeting between Kyuchyuk and the students was also attended by North Macedonia’s Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Bojan Marichikj and Bulgaria’s and North Macedonia’s ambassadors to the EU.
“We must build more bridges between the two peoples, instead of walls. You are the future of our two countries and the example you’re giving is significant for goodneighbourly relations,” Ilhan Kyuchyuk told the students.
During their visit, the students became acquainted with the work of the European institutions and had a personal meeting with the MEP.
