Deputy Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova Wednesday accepted copies of the letters of credence of Agneza Rusi Popovska, the new ambassador of the Republic of North Macedonia to Bulgaria, the Foreign Ministry said. Petrova expressed the Bulgarian side's satisfaction that after too long a period the deficit in the bilateral diplomatic dialogue has been overcome and North Macedonia now has an ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary in Sofia, which will hopefully contribute to deeper good-neighbourly relations.
Petrova noted Bulgaria's support for the EU integration of North Macedonia. At the same time, consistent efforts need to be made to restore trust and build a sincere, positive atmosphere in the bilateral dialogue. It is extremely important for the agreements reached to be reflected in real results, the Deputy Foreign Minister said.
Popovska described the latest developments in the bilateral dialogue as a new page in Sofia-Skopje relations.
The two sides agreed that alongside the progress achieved at the political level, it is in their citizens' interest to have tangible results in sectoral cooperation.
