site.btaBTA to Open Press Club in Bucharest Oct. 28
The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) will open a press club in Bucharest on October 28, thus becoming the first Bulgarian media outlet with a press club in Romania. An exhibition and a concert gala will also be staged on that day.
October 28 is the feast day of Saint Teofana Basarab. Theodora of Wallachia, wife of the Bulgarian Tsar Ivan Alexander, who became a nun under the name of Theophano, was canonized by the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church on February 17, 2022.
After the press club's dedication, BTA and AGERPRES will hold a joint exhibition at the National Opera in Bucharest on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the signing of a Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Good Neighbourliness between Romania and Bulgaria, and the 15th anniversary of their EU accession. Thirty photos and 15 panels illustrate the two neighbouring countries' joint progress towards and inside the EU.
Also that day, a concert gala mottoed "Together in Europe" will take place at the National Opera in Bucharest under the auspices of Presidents Klaus Iohannis of Romania and Rumen Radev of Bulgaria. Four Romanian and four Bulgarian opera singers will sing arias from Carmen, Rigoletto, Nabucco, La Traviata, La Boheme, Attila and Un ballo in maschera under the baton of Bulgarian conductor Yordan Kamdzhalov.
