The "Diplomacy and Art" exhibition of the State Cultural Institute with the Foreign Minister will open Wednesday evening at the Bulgarian Cultural Centre in Skopje. The event was organized by the centre and the National Art Gallery of the Republic of North Macedonia, with the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) as media partner.
The exhibition presents 22 paintings by Bulgarian artists from the post-war period. It includes works by noted artists Konstantin Shturkelov, Denyu Chokanov, Atanas Mihov, Zdravko Alexandrov, Vasil Stoilov, Vanya Decheva, Yordan Katsamunski, as well as Svetlin Roussev, to mention but a few. The list of artists presented at this exhibition also includes Alzek Misheff with a miniature representing his "Swimming across the Atlantic" performance (1979 – 1982).
Over the decades, the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry has acquired a remarkable collection of works of art, nearly 2,000 of which can be seen at Bulgarian missions abroad while another 400 and more are exhibited at the ministry itself.
Before Skopje, "Diplomacy and Art" was also presented at the National Museum of Montenegro in Cetinje and the Museum of Literature and Theatre Arts in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
