GERB leader and former prime minister Boyko Borissov conferred at his party’s headquarters here on Tuesday with the North Macedonia’s visiting Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani. Borissov told the guest that he believes Bulgaria and North Macedonia are the closest, urging for an end to provocative actions and expressing hope for even better relations between the two countries.
Borissov noted that GERB-UDF have won the early parliamentary elections, despite their support for the Republic of North Macedonia. “Bulgarians have come to realize that their closest peoples have been supported and we must stick together,” he said. “We can congratulate ourselves on the success and continue,” the GERB leader said.
He said that there are conflicts throughout the region, such as the ones between Serbia and Kosovo, Ukraine and Russia, Turkey and Greece, adding that Bulgaria and North Macedonia should not be on that list, but focus on building and improving people’s lives.
