A joint meeting between Turkish and Bulgarian officials is held in Edirne in connection with Monday's killing of a Bulgarian border policeman while patrolling the border.

The meeting is headed by Edirne Governor Huseyin Kursat Kirbiyik and is held behind closed doors. 

Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu is expected to make a statement in connection with the meeting.

The Turkish authorities said on Tuesday that two Turkish nationals were identified suspected to have fired the shots and killed the Bulgarian police officer. According to media publications in Turkiye, the two are brothers.
