site.btaBosilegrad Holds Elections for National Council of Bulgarian National Minority

Elections for the National Council of the Bulgarian National Minority are held in Bosilegrad on Sunday.

Representatives of the Bulgarian minority in Serbia can make their choice between three electoral lists with the following candidates: the Mayor of Bosilegrad Vladimir Zahariev, the Mayor of Caribrod Vladica Dimitrov, and Sladjana Ivanov.

A total of 16,401 persons belonging to the Bulgarian national minority are registered in the separate electoral list for the Bulgarians in Serbia,.                      

The right to vote in the elections for the National Council of the Bulgarian National Minority in the Municipality of Bosilegrad is held by 4,605 adult citizens who have expressed their wish and are registered on the separate electoral list.

The election process in the municipality will be managed by a six-member working body appointed by the Republican Election Commission.

A total of 15 polling stations will be opened in the municipality of Bosilegrad: two in the primary school in the town and 13 in the subordinate schools in the nearby villages.

Today, a total of 19 national minorities in the Republic of Serbia will elect members of their national councils in direct elections.
