site.bta"The Shared Art of the Balkans" Goes on Display in Bosnia and Herzegovina
An exhibition dubbed The Shared Art of the Balkans - Traditions and Contemporaneity opened in the Mayor's Office in Brcko, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the organizers from the 13 Centuries of Bulgaria National Endowment Fund said on Tuesday. The exhibition presents 30 works by students and professors from the art academies of Sofia, Thessaloniki, Bucharest and Belgrade. The items were created during the River of Tolerance International Youth Art Festival, organized by the Fund under UNESCO's auspices.
The opening ceremony was attended by Bulgarian Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Valeri Yotov, Brcko Mayor Esed Kadric and local intellectuals.
Magdalena Gigova, a representative of the Fund, said River of Tolerance provides an opportunity for young Balkan artists to unite around the idea of mutual understanding and protecting artistic heritage. She expressed hope that young people from Bosnia and Herzegovina will join the next edition of the festival.
