site.btaBulgarian, Bosnian Municipalities Sign Cooperation Agreement

The municipal councilors of the town of Kiseljak (Bosnia and Herzegovina) have approved the signing of a cooperation agreement with Rakovski Municipality in Southern Bulgaria, the Bulgarian Embassy in Sarajevo said. Mayors Pavel Gudzherov of Rakovski and Mladen Misuric-Ramljak of Kiseljak signed the document on economic, cultural and sport cooperation. The agreement was signed on the initiative and with support from the Bulgarian Embassy.

The formal event was attended by Bulgarian Ambassador Valeri Yotov, Embassy Counsellor Nikola Nikolov, Rakovski Deputy Mayor Ventsislav Chavdarov, Municipal Council Chair Rangel Matanski, Kiseljak municipal councilors and guests.

Mayor Pavel Gudzherov said he was honoured to have Rakovski twinned with Kiseljak. In addition to long-term friendship, this paves the way for cooperation in areas of shared interest.

Mayor Misuric-Ramljak said the initiative dated from ten years ago and the Bulgarian Embassy in Sarajevo created prerequisites for the future cooperation.

Ambassador Yotov stressed that the cooperation agreement shows the two peoples are very similar in terms of history, culture and folklore.
