The new building of the Bulgarian Culture and Information Centre in Skopje will be officially opened on Friday, November 25 - the Day of St Kliment Ohridski. The ceremony will be attended by Bulgarian caretaker Culture Minister Velislav Minekov, North Macedonia’s Cultural Minister Bisera Kostadinovska Stojcevska, Bulgarian Parliament Deputy Chairpersons Nadezhda Samardzhieva and Tsoncho Ganev, Bulgarian Presidency and Foreign Ministry representatives, MPs, and representatives of cultural and public bodies.
Since September, the Bulgarian Culture and Information Centre in Skopje has been located in the city centre, next to the BTA press club. The centre has an indoor and outdoor gallery area, a reading room and a library holding over 10,000 volumes.
The Bulgarian Cultural and Information Centre in Skopje was opened in 2006, following an agreement between the governments of Bulgaria and the Republic of (North) Macedonia in 2003 to open cultural and information centres in Skopje and Sofia respectively.
During the official opening of the centre, an exhibition entitled "Together II" will be unveiled. It includes paintings by contemporary artists from Bulgaria and North Macedonia. The rich programme of the Bulgarian Cultural and Information Centre, will also be presented. It aims to introduce Bulgarian culture and art to the public in North Macedonia.
