Bulgarian caretaker Agriculture Minister Yavor Gechev and Ljupco Nikolovski, the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy of the Republic of North Macedonia, discussed opportunities for joint projects at a meeting in Skopje, the Bulgarian Agriculture Ministry said in a press release here on Saturday. Bulgarian Deputy Agriculture Ministers Georgi Sabev and Todor Dzhikov also took part in the talks.
Gechev stressed that Bulgaria is ready to share its experience from the path it has come since joining the European Union and its common market, as well as good practices. He said that Bulgaria and North Macedonia could work together in protecting geographical indications, developing common tourist and wine routes, and hunting tourism. "This way we can promote our traditions", Gechev added.
During its visit to Skopje, the Bulgarian delegation toured an organic food packaging and manufacturing company, and wineries, financed under EU pre-accession funds.
Gechev told Nikolovski about the upcoming international exhibitions in Bulgaria at the beginning of 2023 - Vinaria, Foodtech and Hunting & Fishing, and invited North Macedonia to participate.
