site.btaMPs to Request BGN 500,000 from Cabinet for Bulgarians in Taraclia, Moldova

Chair of the Taraclia regional council Ivan Paslar was heard on Wednesday by the standing Committee on Labour, Social and Demographic Policy in Parliament. Paslar sought support for the Bulgarians in Taraclia, who were impacted by higher goods, gas and electricity prices due to the war in Ukraine.

The MPs confirmed that they will provide the aid. The Chair of the Committee, Georgi Gyokov (BSP for Bulgaria), said that the funds could be provided from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs budget. Gyokov added that the Bulgarian Red Cross had assured him that they could help with the logistics.

The Social Policy Committee agreed on the proposal to send a letter to the Council of Ministers with a proposal to allocate BGN 500,000 to help the Bulgarians in Taraclia.

Paslar expressed his gratitude to the MPs. "This is not begging - it is a gesture. Bulgaria should take care of all Bulgarians," Gyokov said.
