President Rumen Radev will pay a visit to Albania's capital of Tirana on December 5-6, his Press Secretariat reported here on Friday. Radev will represent Bulgaria at the EU-Western Balkans Summit.

The meeting will focus on the strategic partnership and development of political dialogue between the EU and the countries in the Western Balkans, the security challenges, migration pressure, the fight against terrorism and organized crime. Overcoming the negative socioeconomic consequences of the war in Ukraine and the deepening energy and food crisis will also be among the highlights of discussions.

In Tirana, Radev is expected to meet with representatives of the Bulgarian national minority in Albania.

Kosovo's President Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu paid a visit to Bulgaria a couple of days ago. Bulgaria will continue to work for greater commitment by the EU to the Western Balkans, said President Rumen Radev on Wednesday after his meeting with his Kosovar counterpart. “We expect the Western Balkan countries to prove in a continuous process their commitment to the principles and the values of the EU, and the principles of goodneighbourliness,” said President Radev.
