Bulgarian Foreign Minister Nikolay Milkov has started a working visit to the Republic of North Macedonia. Meeting with representatives of the Bulgarian community in the country on Tuesday, he reaffirmed the readiness of Bulgaria and the government to help protect the rights of the citizens of North Macedonia with Bulgarian national identity.

The talks also focused on cooperation in various projects and efforts to create a better atmosphere in bilateral relations between the two countries and to overcome hate speech.

On Wednesday, Foreign Minister Milkov and Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani are scheduled to open a business forum in Skopje. The decision to hold the event was made during their meeting in the framework of the Bulgarian presidency of the Central European Initiative, after which they will jointly participate in the celebration of the Day of St. Clement of Ohrid which the Republic of North Macedonia observes on December 8.
