The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria, Nikolay Milkov, and of the Republic of North Macedonia, Bujar Osmani, laid flowers at the monument of St. Clement of Ohrid in Skopje in an act of jointly commemoration of the saint, as was recommended by the Joint Historical Commission in 2019.

The Republic of North Macedonia observes December 8 as the Day of St. Clement of Ohrid.

The monument is located in front of the National University Library, which bears his name.

The two ministers toured the library, and Bulgarian Foreign Minister Nikolay Milkov presented the director with books related to Slavic manuscripts and Balkan scribes.

In the programme of the working visit to the Republic of North Macedonia, Nikolay Milkov will also meet today with the Speaker of the Parliament of North Macedonia, Talat Xhaferi, and will visit the Institute for Hearing, Speech and Voice Rehabilitation in Skopje, which uses an audiometer - the only one of its kind in North Macedonia - purchased under the Bulgarian Development Aid programme.
