"We expect that there will be a reaction from the government of the Republic of North Macedonia to reach a European solution for the functioning of clubs established by citizens of the country with Bulgarian national identity," Bulgarian Foreign Minister Nikolay Milkov said at a press conference Wednesday.
"They are becoming more and more, and this is a good sign, because people with Bulgarian national identity see an opportunity through this way of association to protect their interest related to ethnic identification. We expect the Republic of North Macedonia to provide a normal environment for their functioning, and turns them into a bridge and not a reason for division and hate speech," Milkov said.
The Bulgarian Minister of Foreign Affairs is on a working visit to Skopje, during which he and his counterpart from the Republic of North Macedonia, Bujar Osmani, opened a business forum with the participation of over 150 Bulgarian companies, the two laid flowers at the monument of St. Clement of Ohrid. Milkov also met with the President of Parliament Talat Xhaferi.
