National Assembly Chairman Vezhdi Rashidov met with visiting Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou here on Thursday, Parliament's press service reported. They agreed that their two countries should continue to work on promoting parliamentary cooperation and diplomacy and to actively develop their bilateral ties in culture and tourism, among other fields.
Rashidov underscored that Bulgaria and Greece have had friendly and goodwill relations for many years. The relations between the friendship groups in the two countries’ parliaments have contributed to this, he noted. The National Assembly Chairman called for a meeting with his Greek counterpart.
Sakellaropoulou said that her talks during her official visit here have confirmed the healthy and friendly ties between the two countries. She recalled that after the events in Ukraine, the relations between Bulgaria and Greece have broadened in the field of energy, which is of strategic importance for the entire region and the European Union.
