site.btaBulgarian Church Accepts Serbian Recognition of Autocephaly of Orthodox Church in North Macedonia

The Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church said on Friday it accepts the fact that the Serbian Orthodox Church has recognized the Orthodox Church in North Macedonia as autocephalous (self-governing).

Under the Holy Synod decision, which was made on December 13, the Bulgarian Orthodox Church will refer to the primate of the Orthodox Church in North Macedonia, Archbishop Stefan, as "Archbishop of North Macedonia" until the Orthodox churches decide on the name of the Orthodox Church in North Macedonia.
