The cooperation between the municipalities of Varna, on the Black Sea, and Cluj-Napoca, Romania, should be transformed into twinning, Bulgaria's Ambassador in Bucharest Radko Vlaykov and Cluj-Napoca Mayor Emil Boc agreed at a meeting in Cluj-Napoca on Friday. Vlaykov and Boc also talked about issues related to tourism, IT technologies and the implementation of joint European projects, the Bulgarian Embassy in Romania said on its Facebook page.

The Bulgarian Ambassador received support for his idea to look for evidence of Bulgarian presence in the distant past during future archaeological activities related to the study of the history of the town of Turda in the county of Cluj-Napoca.

Cooperation with Bulgarian universities was established at a meeting with the rector of Babes-Bolyai University, Prof. Daniel David.

At the end of his visit to Cluj-Napoca, Vlaykov discussed with local business representatives details of the Bulgarian-Romanian forum planned for the second quarter of 2023 in the city.
