Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev conferred with the First President of the Turkish Court of Cassation, Mehmet Akarca, the Bulgarian prosecution service reported on Wednesday.

Geshev and Akarca confirmed the two countries’ joint commitment to guarantee justice and protect the rights of its citizens and to protect the borders of the Euro-Atlantic zone.

Every problem can be resolved and every goal achieved for as long as there is dialogue and shared values, Mehmet Akarca said.

The to agreed that the strategic partnership between the two countries’ judicial authorities must continue and upgraded.

Geshev outlined the results achieved in countering terrorism, cross-border crime and illegal migration.

Ivan Geshev is paying a visit to Turkiye, where he is scheduled to confer with Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu and Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag.
