site.btaArmenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan Arrives on Official Visit to Bulgaria

The President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan is on an official visit to Bulgaria at the invitation of President Rumen Radev. The visit marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Armenia.

President Radev will welcome his Armenian counterpart with an official ceremony at St Alexander Nevsky Square on Monday morning. The event will include a guard of honour and a 21-gun artillery salute. Khachaturyan will pay his respects at the Monument of the Unknown Soldier.

Later, the two presidents will hold a one-on-one meeting, after which they will lead the plenary talks between the official delegations of their countries.

Radev and Khachaturyan will sign a joint declaration on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Armenia. The heads of State will then attend the sighing of a protocol for the establishment of the Armenian-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Economy.

President Khachaturyan's visit will last until October 20. During this time the Armenian head of State will deliver a lecture at Sofia University and will hold a meeting with caretaker Prime Minister Galab Donev.

The agenda also includes a meeting with the Mayor of Sofia Yordanka Fandakova, a visit to Plovdiv, as well as meetings with representatives of the Armenian community.
