Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Kostadin Kodzhabashev invited Turkish Ambassador to Bulgaria Aylin Sekizkok to a meeting, in order to request cooperation with the investigation of the case of the Bulgarian border patrol officer, who was shot dead at the Bulgarian-Turkish border on Monday evening, the caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikolay Milkov told reporters.

Commenting on the shooting incident on the Bulgaria Turkiye border that ended with a Bulgarian police officer shot dead, caretaker Minister of Interior Ivan Demerdzhiev told reporters on Tuesday morning that the perpetrators were illegal migrants. "We will show zero tolerance towards anyone, who threatens the lives or well-being of our officers at the borders," said Demerdzhiev.
