site.btaExtraordinary Parliamentary Sitting to Debate on Import of Russian Crude Oil
The National Assembly will hold an extraordinary sitting on Tuesday at 1 pm. On the agenda is first reading of a bill regarding control over the application of the derogation from purchasing, importing or transferring seaborne crude oil and petroleum products originating from Russia or exported from Russia.
The bill, tabled by Movement for Rights and Freedoms leader Mustafa Karadayi and a group of MPs, proposes a ban on exports of crude oil and petroleum products subject to the derogation.
Also on the agenda is first reading of amendments to the Act on Administrative Regulation of Economic Activities Related to Crude Oil and Petroleum Products. The draft revisions, tabled by Ivaylo Mirchev MP of Democratic Bulgaria and a group of MPs, propose to introduce a mechanism to take over the operational management of traders who work with critical infrastructure related to crude oil and petroleum products in case of circumstances that threaten the national security of Bulgaria, public order and the supply of critical resources..
Question Time is also scheduled. Speakers will be Caretaker Deputy Prime Ministers Hristo Aleksiev and Ivan Demerdzhiev and Ministers of Transport and Interior, as well as Innovation Minister Alexander Pulev, Education Minister Sasho Penov, Economy Minister Nikola Stoyanov, Foreign Minster Nikolay Milkov and Energy Minister Rossen Hristov.
