North Macedonia's President Stevo Pendarovski condemned the assault against Hristian Pendikov, Secretary of the club of the Bulgarian community in Ohrid.
"I call on the competent institutions to conduct an expeditious and in-depth investigation, enforcing the appropriate responsibility and imposing sanctions on the perpetrators," Pendarovski wrote in a Facebook post.
Pendikov has been hospitalized with a broken jaw and suspected injury to the vertebrae.
His King Boris III Club was opened in October 2022 and has been attacked on several occasions so far. The attackers first used a farming implement, then smashed the illuminated sign with stones in November, and a couple of days later shot a firearm at the club.
